Community Groups is really the main driving axle of our Church. In order to grow, become discipled, be ministered to, and minister to others it all stems from your small group you meet with and are in contact with weekly. We want this to become a family that shares meals, bible study time, life in general, and evangelize this city with each other.
We have Community Groups that meet weekly. These are what we consider elders/leaders within the church. We encourage you to reach out and ask more information about getting connected to one of the groups below.
Kevin and Cathy have been married for 30 years. Kevin grew up in Gaffney and Cathy moved to Gaffney over 30 years ago. They are both teachers in Blacksburg. Kevin teaches and coaches at Blacksburg High School and Cathy teaches at Blacksburg Middle School. They have raised three amazing adults. Eric and his wife, Mary, live in Charlotte where they serve at King’s Church. They work from home and love the grand dog, Samson. Matthew lives in Greenville and is the business development manager with CapCenter. Kristin is a senior at Winthrop in Rock Hill. She is currently completing her internship in kindergarten. She attends Park Baptist Church and attends BCM at Winthrop.
RSCC has been a life changing catalyst for our family. We love serving our community and learning how to apply God’s word through our small group study. We began in an awesome small group and have made so many friends, or should we say family members in Christ
Sundays 6 – 7:30 pm
Andrew and Jamie fell in love with RSCC the first time they came. They had been searching for a while to find a church home that was a good fit for them and closer to their house. They have two sons and are also foster parents. Andrew teaches second grade and Jamie teaches 3K at schools in Cherokee County. The Lydas love football, NASCAR, movie nights at home, and cheering on their children in all kids of activities. Their community group has been meeting together, eating, praying, and studying through various books of the Bible. Their community group encourages each other and prays for each other. They hold each other accountable and spur each other on to be more like Jesus.
Sundays 5 – 7:00 pm
The Way Community Group is facilitated by David and Debbie Dorman. David and Debbie have a heart for ministry and outreach that makes Rock Solid a perfect church for them. In addition to doing ministry in every area of their life they enjoy pouring into five grandchildren who all live nearby and play every sport imaginable. Debbie has a gift of hospitality and service and enjoys hosting the family and anyone else who comes to their house. David loves going on mission trips, doing weekly homeless ministry and writing. Debbie manages a State Farm Insurance Office in Gaffney and David is a CPA and Controller at Hamrick Mills. David and Debbie both love their community group and the members have become like family. The group may only meet from 6:15 PM to 7:30 PM on Tuesdays but the interaction, sharing of prayer concerns and outreach is ongoing. This group does a monthly outreach at Granard Courts for anyone able to come and joins other outreaches during the year. Their meeting typically consists of fellowship with dessert (often a meal), then sharing prayer concerns and usually working through a book of the Bible together. A recent first-time visitor left saying it just felt so real and genuine how everyone is working through life together. The Way is an eclectic group of older and younger, men and women, couples and singles. It is basically for anyone, and everyone feels welcome and loved.

Tuesdays 6:30 – 8 pm
We enjoy going out to dinner as a family, watching movies together, and watching our oldest son play baseball. Kayla is a middle school instructional coach at BMS and Gary is a maintenance supervisor at Milliken. RSCC truly feels like home for us. As a family, we have grown in Christ so much over the last year. It’s a blessing to watch our boys enjoy going to church and learn about having a relationship with Jesus. Not only, have we grown in Christ, we’ve made Christian friends that hold us accountable. We just truly enjoy being apart of RSCC.
Wednesdays 6:30 – 8:00 pm

We have been married for going on 7 years. We have 3 beautiful children; Camron, Kalli and Cooper. Shea is a dental assistant at Pediatric Dentistry of Gaffney and Clay is a team leader at Freightliner. We started Rock Solid Community Church within the first couple of weeks that it launched. We both have grown so much spiritually since we started. From the very beginning, there has never been a time that we didn’t feel welcomed or loved. One of the things that we prayed for before starting RSCC was to have a church that felt like home and to have Godly friends. We have been truly blessed with both of those! Our goal as community group leaders is to devote ourselves to building relationships with others so that they may feel comfortable coming together and growing in Gods word.

We are looking forward to meeting new people, forming relationships, and growing in The Word!
